Description
Deutsch: Richtung Berlin, Nachschuss; die Verbindung zwischen Berlin und dem Rheinland ist von Anfang an eine Stammleistung der ICE-2-Halbzüge. In Hamm werden die Züge in der Regel in Richtung Osten vereinigt, die beiden Teile kommen einzeln von Köln und Düsseldorf.

Die Steuerwagen laufen in der Regel auf der Westseite, damit ist in der Regel ein Zusammentreffen der Lokomotiven zu vermeiden. Sie hätte wegen des dann zu kurzen Stromabnehmerabstandes eine verringerte Geschwindigkeit auf Schnellfahrabschnitten zur Folge.

Die Steuerwagen wurden als letzte ICE-2-Wagen geliefert, sie fallen durch einen kleineren Radius der Dachwölbung auf. Die Folge sind nicht mit den übrigen Wagen tauschbare Türblätter.
