Description
Deutsch: Xem 9181 013, einer der Unterhaltungstriebwagen für den Gotthard-Basistunnel. Er erhielt bei Indienststellung den Taufnamen Airolo. Nach Fertigstellung werden vergleichbare Einheiten auch im Monte-Cneri-Basistunnel eingesetzt. Die Basisfahrzeuge sind, erkennbar am Gattungszeichen, zweikraftfähig. Die Fahrten zur und von der Einsatzstelle können damit elektrisch und im Tunnel abgasfrei zurückgelegt werden. Mit den Schwab-Kupplungen sollen die einzelnen Wagen vom Führerstand aus gekuppelt und getrennt werden, doch erstaunt diese Wahl durchaus. SBB Cargo orientierte zur selben Zeit auf Cargoflex-Kupplungen, verstärkte Scharfenbergkupplungen Typ 10. Die Kuppelköpfe sind allerdings auch nachträglich noch mit wenig Aufwand zu wechseln. Ein Vorteil der Schwab-Kupplungen sind die vergleichsweise leicht ansetzbaren Übergangskupplungen für die klassische Schraubenkupplung.
