The only portrait of which there is authentic evidence that the Prince sat for when in Scotland Portrait of Prince Charles in a stone frame on a stone slab with the engraving "Everso Missus Succurrere Seclo" with a shield, sword, helmet, and branch on the ground below, and a robe drapped over the frame and further text below "A Paris chez Chereau rue St Iaques. C.P.R."
