Kapilvastu Municipality 9 and 10 of Kapilvastu District i.e. Jagdishpur Lake, a famous wetland area of Nepal. It is spread over 556 hectares of land. If the lake is 2 meters deep, it is estimated to be 7 meters in the rainy season.

English: Kapilvastu Municipality 9 and 10 of Kapilvastu District i.e. Jagdishpur Lake, a famous wetland area of Nepal. It is spread over 556 hectares of land. If the lake is 2 meters deep, it is estimated to be 7 meters in the rainy season. The lake was created for irrigation in 1970. The main source of water in this lake is the river Banganga. From this lake water is sent to farmers in different parts of Kapilvastu district for irrigation through canals. It became a wetland area for irrigation. At present birds of different species and species can be seen in this lake. Especially Siberian birds can be seen in this lake according to the weather. The lake has also become a focal point of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. There are stone arrangements for the convenience of tourists, arrangement of hotel for accommodation, homestay etc. A Jagdishpur Reservoir Management Multi-stakeholder Forum has also been set up for the conservation of this lake.
