Summary edit

Description
English: Jagiellonian tapestry (Paradise Felicity from the series The Story of the First Parents) of Sigismund II Augustus (King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania), manufactured in Brussels, Flanders, circa 1550, exhibited in the Great Renaissance Hall of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius in 2023.
The tapestry depicts six different episodes distributed among the fire-, middle- and background. This arrangement makes it possible to include the entire part of the story of Adam and Eve that takes place in the Garden of Eden, beginning with the small scene of the Creation of Adam (in the upper left corner), then Creation of Eve, God Presents Eve to Adam, God Commands Adam and Eve to not Eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (in the centre of the tapestry), Original Sin, and ending with Expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The effortless, perfectly composed episodes which make up the "paradise narrative" were a great novelty for Sigismund II Augustus' wedding (1553) guests.
Lietuvių: Jogailaičių gobelenas (Rojaus laimė iš serijos Pirmųjų tėvų istorija), kurį užsakė Lenkijos karalius ir Lietuvos didysis kunigaikštis Žygimantas Augustas, o pagamintas jis buvo Briuselyje, Flandrijoje, apie 1550 m., eksponuotas Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės valdovų rūmų Vilniuje Didžiojoje renesansinėje menėje 2023 m.
Šio gobeleno pirmame, viduriniame ir tolimajame plane sukomponuoti net šeši skirtingi epizodai. Toks sprendimas leido visai Ievos ir Adomo istorijai vykti Rojaus sode, pradedant nedidele Adomo sutvėrimo scena (kairiame viršutiniame kampe), kurią pratęsia Ievos sutvėrimas, Ievos pristatymas Adomui, Dievo draudimas valgyti vaisių nuo Gėrio ir Blogio medžio (gobeleno centre), Pirmapradė nuodėme, o užbaigia Išvarymas iš rojaus. Laisvi, tobulai sukomponuoti pasakojimo epizodai darė didelį įspūdį Žygimanto Augusto 1553 m. vestuvių svečiams.
