Description

"New School Supplies: 1st Lieutenant James Turse, 24 (Croton, Connecticut) presents school supplies to Sister Regina Teresina, a teacher at the Catholic school in Hoa Thanh, north of Da Nang. The school supplies were gifts from Kingsport School (Springfield, Virginia) and were distributed to the Buddhist and Catholic schools in Hoa Than by the 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Civil Affairs section. Included in supplies were notebooks, pencils, crayons, erasers, and pencil sharpeners (official USMC photo by Sergeant J. F. Colton)."
