Description
James Madison and Sarah Emily Sain Shively came to Whitman County by immigrant train from Kansas and Missouri to Walla Walla. Sina's father, D. Sain met them with a team and wagon to take them to the Sain homestead between Steptoe and Oakesdale (known as the Cottonwood area). Their home was on the Ragon Road and is best known as the Harry McGee place. One of their neighbors was James (Cashup) Davis. Source - Oakesdale Memories, Alpha Study Club.
