Summary edit

Description
English: The Dragon Snake (Xenodermus javanicus) is the only species of the family (Xenodermatidae) that lives in Indonesia. As the name implies, the Dragon Snake is a species endemic to the island of Java. This species is called the Dragon Snake because of the morphological shape of this snake which is different from other snakes in general and also resembles or resembles a dragon even though it does not have wings and cannot spit fire. The skin of this snake is rougher than other snakes and is almost like lizard skin and on the dorsal or back area there are rows of scales or spines that are neatly lined up along the body called hemipenial protrusions. A very prominent feature of the Dragon Snake is the presence of 3 rows of large tubercles (small and hard bumps) on the dorsum of its body. This snake can be found in submontane and montana habitats, generally around water sources in small streams or rice fields. His habitat makes it very easy for him to find his prey like amphibians, at this moment he is vomiting a frog. An interesting fact about the Dragon Snake is that it has the ability to pretend to be dead when disturbed, its body will stiffen.
