Description
English: New York City Fire Department deputy chief Jay Jonas met with members of the Marietta Fire Department September 15 and discussed the impact 9/11 had on him and shared a story about him running into the towers to help save lives and a piece of the building falling on him. He was the captain of Ladder Company 6 and was one of the first units to respond to the attacks on the World Trade Center. Jonas and his crew were rescuing a woman from the north tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed on them. Selected as the official representative from the New Your City Fire Department, Deputy Chief Jonas attended President George W. Bush's address to the nation at the U.S. Capitol after September 11.
