The Taube was the first combat aircraft of Germany during the early days of WWI. It also worked by wing wrapping instead of using ailerons. Several kinds of Taubes where made, the main difference being usually the engine. As principal characteristic of the Jeannin Stahltaube variant is the use of a steel strut frame work. The engine here is a 6-Cylinder Mercedes Typ E4F, 74 kW (99 hp). More info @: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumpler_Taube |
