English: Original Caption: "Mayen, Germany. Sgt. John Hylass, Brentwood, N.J., personal Military Policeman to guard Maj. Gen. Manston S. Eddy, CG of the XII Corps, U.S. Third Army, stands watch with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a jeep while General Eddy pays a visit to his Command Post in Mayen. In the background is the famous Castle of Mayen which dates back to the days of Charlemagne."
