Summary

edit
Description Deputy commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, Maj. Jeff Palazzini, gives a little Army history to the crowd at the Sacramento District’s celebration of the 240th birthday of our nation’s army. The Army was established in 1775 by the Continental Congress to fight the British during the American Revolution. Although a chief engineer was appointed that same year, it wasn’t until 1802 that the Corps of Engineers was established as the stand-alone unit we know today.
