DescriptionJerusalem Temple Mount view from Mount of Olives (6035890417).jpg |
The Mount of Olives overlooks the old city, and in particular has a nice direct view to Mount Moriah, now the Temple Mount and the home of the Dome of the Rock (center) and the Al-Aqsa Mosque (left). Behind the golden Dome of the Rock can be seen the smaller domes of the Byzantine-era Church of the Holy Sepulchre (which itself inspired the early Muslim rules of Jerusalem to build the Dome of the Rock to rival it.) |
