Deutsch: Wahrscheinlich die Endfassung, gemalt für Königin Wilhelmine von den Niederlanden. Schauplatz ist jener Raum im Palais Voss in der Berliner Wilhelmstraße, in dem sich der Schachklub des Grafen Ingenheim regelmäßig traf und wo sich Archiv und Bibliothek dieses Klubs befanden. Von links nach rechts sind dargestellt: Der Berliner Architekt Hans Christian Genelli (mit einer Tonpfeife); der Archäologe Hofrat Aloys Hirt (Akademiemitglied), Gustav Adolf von Ingenheim (Sohn Friedrich Wilhelms II. und der Gräfin Voss), der Maler Friedrich Bury, Hummel selber (am Fenster); Graf Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg (Halbbruder der Auftraggeberin des Bildes Königin Wilhelmine von den Niederlanden)[1] . Angeblich soll es sich um eine Schachpartie im Jahre 1818 handeln.[2]
