Other versions Schmähbrief mit Schandbild: Ritter Johann von Löwenstein lässt "alle Menschen wissen", wie der gegen Landgraf Ludwig I. von Hessen trotz clage ader schryften ihm das Seinige "wider Gott, Ehre und Recht" vorenthalte. Offenbar ist dem Hochadligen der Wind, der von Judas ging, da he sich hyng, "vor seine Ohren und Augen geschlagen, dass er seine Ehre weder sieht noch hört". Darum solle man ihn hie schentlich mit sinen wappen gemallet hangen lan, solange bis er nach dem Urteil rechtschaffener Leute Entschädigung (kerung) geleistet habe.
