English: Ahead of His Time John Finley Scott
John Finley Scott began converting bicycles for off road use in the 1950s, 30 years before bicycle companies began to produce mountain bikes. Scott commissioned John Padgett of Nevada City to build the frame of this bicycle for him to ride to the mountains. It is one of eight originals that came to be known as “Woodies”. It is otherwise equipped with off road 650B wheels and cantilever brakes. (1960s) |
