Rectangular 86mm (3 3/8in) x 113mm (4 7/16in) Notas a pie de página Born Corisande Armandine Léonie Sophie de Gramont, Corisande escaped France during the Terror with her family, including her mother, Aglaé Louise Françoise Gabrielle de Polignac (1768 – 1803), the daughter of Gabrielle de Polastron, the favourite and confidante of Marie Antoinette.

In England, Corisande was brought up in the household of her grandmother's great friend, Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. Here she grew up alongside Lady Caroline Ponsonby, who was later to become the infamous Lady Caroline Lamb.

Upon her marriage to Charles Augustus Bennet, 5th Earl of Tankerville in 1806, Corisande and her husband moved to Charles Street, London.
