Summary

edit
Description
English: The John Lutz House (also known as the Aged Woman's Home) is located at 1255 Wisconsin Avenue NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The oldest portion of the building was reportedly constructed in 1756 with additions in 1870 and 1872. The building's namesake was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and one of George Washington's bodyguards. He purchased the house in 1804 and opened a leather shop across the street. The house was converted into the Aged Woman's Home in 1868. The building is listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites and is a contributing property to the Georgetown Historic District.
