Description
English: One of some anthropoid coffins. A lengthy story explain this type is found on few sites in Jordan and Palestine (Sahab, Lachish, Tell al-Far’ah, Besan and Deir al-Balah). The burial practice was in use from the 13th to the 7th century BC. The ones shown were found in the Raghadan Palace in Amman, and contained two or three skeletons.
