Painted for the celebrations of the 4th centenary of the discovery of the Americas. The painting shows Pedro Álvares Cabral, kneeling with a portfolio in his hands. The old man with glasses, holding a compasses, could be Luca Pacioli. At the background, from left to right, Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama and Amerigo Vespucci.
