Notes
  • Significance: Jose Maria Martinez was a brother of Pascual Martinez whose large house stood across the Taos River from the dwelling. Family history, according to Dan Leandro Martinez, Jr., ascribes the building of this house to 1833, a reasonable one surely in light of the fact that Jose Maria did not inherit the land from his father until 1829. The door and window trim could not have been added before about 1865, and the present double doors of Room No. 7 are quite recent in date...
