DescriptionJoseph Roux Carte de la mer Mediterranee en douze feuilles.jpg |
English: This is a folio of twelve Mediterranean charts published by Joseph Roux in Marseille in 1764. A label affixed to the inside cover states that the charts were used in 1803 by American Naval Officers in 1803 in the War with Tripoli. On the inside are three pencil portraits of ships, two on the back of charts, as well as a portrait of Admiral Dent. This folio is in the rare book collection at The Mariners' Museum library. |
