La fête du couronnement du roi Mindaugas, fondateur de l’État lituanien est le 6 juillet, un vendredi en 2012, ce qui a permis aux lituaniens de bénéficier d'un long week-end. Beaucoup en ont profité pour se marier; d'autres pour faire baptiser leurs jeunes enfants.
