English: Jubilee fountain, Newnham Attached plaques celebrate the jubilee years of several monarchs: 1897-Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 1935-George V's Silver Jubilee, 1977-Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee and 2002-Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee.
A redundant notice also reads, 'Notice is hereby given that any person found polluting the water in this fountain with carbide or other matter will be prosecuted by Order.' The fountain no longer supplies water, but is used for floral displays. Currently on show - a few dead geraniums. |
