Description Pre World War I postcard of Judge Walton in High Court robes. The exact identity of this judge is unknown, but there was a Sir Joseph Walton JP (b.1845 - d.12 August 1910) who sentenced coal miner Abel Atherton aged 30 to hanging on 8 December 1909 for the wilful murder of Elizabeth Ann Patrick at Chopwell on 11 August 1909. He was a Judge of the Kings Bench.
