Description
Español: Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla. Pintura, óleo sobre lienzo, de Pedro Núñez de Villavicencio (1674). Judith, con ayuda de su vieja criada, tiende una trampa al malvado Holofernes, lo decapita y libera a Betulia de la destrucción. En la conseguida composición del pintor barroco sitúa a la heroína en un plano superior y destacado, mostrando al espectador la cabeza y con expresión muy serena, muestra de la mujer fuerte, valiente y segura. Otros asistentes, personajes importantes de Betulia, fijan la mirada en la cabeza con expresión de asombro.
