Description
Español: Julian Sánchez Sobrino(Pozuelo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real, 6 de junio de 1925) fue un atleta veterano ya retirado.

Residente en Santurtzi(Bizkaia), hizo una apuesta con un compañero de trabajo que consistía en subir y bajar corriendo el Serantes(Santurtzi). La primera vez perdió tras tener un accidente fortuito. El mismo pidió una revancha que gano. Tras eso se entreno duro por las noches y de madrugada siempre que su trabajo no lo impidiera. Poco a poco fue participando en Carreras Populares. Un periodista conocido con el seudónimo de "Hierro" le animo a seguir y consiguió convencer a Julian para que participase en Carreras Populares, Provinciales y Nacionales. El "Correo Vasco"(periódico editado y publicado en el País Vasco) le ayudo económicamente al atleta. Julian consiguió muchas txapelas(trofeos típicos del País Vasco) y trofeos en toda España. Desde ese momento pego el salto a Campeonatos Europeos y Mundiales donde consiguió ser Campeón del Mundo de Veteranos.

En el 2006 fue galardonado con una medalla en la primera gala del deporte de Santurtzi.
