Object history Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on September 6, 2000 for DKK 760,000 (EUR 100,000) (Lot 682/1424).
Exhibition history The experts at Bruun Rasmussen speculated that this might be the painting exhibited by Exner at Charlottenborg, Copenhagen in 1845, as Et modelstudie (no. 110). But they were probably wrong. At Sotheby's sale in June 2020, another Exner painting from the session emerged, claiming to be the Charlottenborg specimen (although a wrong year was stated).
