English: Young boys in the Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend, the separate section for boys aged 10 to 14 of the Hitler Youth organisation in Nazi Germany, as "KLV children". The evacuation of children in Germany during the World War II was designed to save children in Nazi Germany from the risks associated with the aerial bombing of cities, by moving them to areas thought to be less at risk. The German term used for this was Kinderlandverschickung (KLV), a short form of Verschickung der Kinder auf das Land ("relocation of children to the countryside"). Deutsch: Gruppenbild einer gruppe| aus dem Rheinland mit Betreuern, die im Rahmen der Aktion "Kinderlandverschickung" im Kinderverschickungslager weilte. Das Deutsche Jungvolk (DJ), kurz auch als Jungvolk bezeichnet, war in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus eine Jugendorganisation der Hitlerjugend für Jungen zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren. Die Bezeichnung Kinderlandverschickung (KLV) wurde vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg ausschließlich für die Erholungsverschickung von Kindern verwendet. Heute wird unter diesem Stichwort meistens an die Erweiterte Kinderlandverschickung gedacht, bei der ab Oktober 1940 Schulkinder sowie Mütter mit Kleinkindern aus den vom Luftkrieg bedrohten deutschen Städten längerfristig in weniger gefährdeten Gebieten untergebracht wurden. Die „Reichsdienststelle KLV“ evakuierte bis Kriegsende insgesamt wahrscheinlich über 2.000.000 Kinder und versorgte dabei vermutlich 850.000 Schüler im Alter zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren, aber auch ältere in KLV-Lagern.
