Description
English: Linderhof Palace with the "King's limetree".
The "King's limetree" at Linderhof Palace is a remarkable tree in the so called "Water parterre" in front of the castle. About 450 years old and 30 m heigh, it existed long before the palace was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria.
In the days of king Ludwig II there was a "Baumhaus" (tree house) in the lime tree, not a real house but a platform (see [1]) where the king had breakfast, when the weather was fine.
