Description Röntgenbild vom rechten Oberschenkel einer 79-jährigen Patientin: im oberen Drittel des Femurs liegt einer der weltweit ersten Marknägel, entwickelt und eingebaut von Gerhard Küntscher im Jahre 1940. Im Alter von 23 Jahren hatte die 1908 geborene Frau eine Femurhalsfraktur erlitten. Subtrochanterer Ermüdungsbruch mit varischer Verbiegung des Marknagels.
