English: Sculpture of Lord Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill, at Hoysaleswara Temple, Halebidu, Karnataka, India. Intricate details carved in this sculpture of Hoysala architecture, one can note the imagination, design, planning, skill and execution of the art work. Examples are (1) a monkey is depicted climbing a tree, adjacent to a banana tree, which has borne fruit and it has turned its head eyeing the bananas (2) a lion eating another animal, part of it already inside the mouth (3) man is seen climbing (4) reptiles crawling up (5) a bear eyeing a bird, which itself seems to be swallowing a snake (6) an animal entering a cave - only the body, tail and hind legs seen (7) a hunter who has shot an arrow, at a boar (8) two birds eating next to a lizard (9) variety of trees and creepers (10) people from different professions, with detail of turbans (headgear), and the tools of their profession (11) 3 musician-dancers, facing 3 different directions, while the 4 legs carved make perfect positioning for the 3 people (12) cows and bulls carved out, with hollow portions left to give a proper 3 dimensional sculpture (13) intricate depiction of anklets, the toes, toe-nails, toe-rings, jewels, ornaments, flower garland, crown, etc. (14) perfection in depiction of the hand holding mountain, including nails, rings.
