Description An iconic building, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church ( Gedachtniskirche ). Virtually destroyed during Allied bombing in 1943, only the tallest of it's six steeples was left standing. After the war, it was decided to leave the broken tower as a memorial to the futility of war, and create a new church around it.
