    • The drawing was created by a contributor on Commons without providing the historical sources or references.
    • According to Petr von Fenstein in 2006 (text in Czech) this insignia of the Bačka Division was fabricated and constructed after the war. The 31st SS Volunteer Grenadier Division "Bačka" was a World War II German Waffen-SS unit primarily composed of ethnic German (Volksdeutsche) recruits from the Bačka region in Vojvodina, which was annexed by Hungary.
  • During the German occupation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (a territory of Nazi Germany established on 16 March 1939), the Waffen-SS played a significant role in security and repression. Initially, the Allgemeine-SS provided makeshift protection for armament factories, leading to tensions with the Wehrmacht. Over time, the Waffen-SS expanded its presence, participating in anti-resistance operations and managing crucial security tasks, including the guarding of refineries and escorting detainees. The SS's involvement in events like the Prague student protests of 1939 demonstrated their aggressive tactics. By 1940, organizational changes further solidified the SS's autonomy and strategic role, culminating in increased recruitment efforts and the establishment of training grounds in the region. Despite early resistance to recruiting non-Germans, the SS eventually incorporated foreign volunteers, highlighting its adaptability amidst wartime demands.
