Ελληνικά: Από την σε σχήμα χωνιού καρστική πηγή εκρέει πολύ μεγάλη ποσότητα υδάτων, όπως το δείχνει και η φωτογραφία με την πηγή στο βάθος. Το καρστικό νερό ρέει μέσα από τις πολυάριθμες πολλές διακλάσεις που έχουν αφετηρία τον ορεινό όγκο Αροάνια και τις καταβόθρες του οροπέδιο Λίμνη Φενεού.
Παρότι που η περιοχή είναι γεώτοπιο και φυσικό μνημείο δυστυχώς δεν προστατεύεται από το νόμο, έχει όμως παραμείνει σχετικά ανέπαφη χάρη στην ερημική τοποθεσία όπου βρίσκεται. English: karst spring in district Achaea, Peloponnese, Greece in May 2006. The ca. 20m wide oval spring pit, shaded by big trees, discharges seasonally varying, but enormous quantities of water, as may be seen on the photo, made from right behind the spring. There is a large catchment area: The snow covered massif Aroania and the katavothren (Greek term for ponors) of the depression plateau Feneos. The fast transport through large joints of tectonic origin indicates a lack of long aquifer-filtering. Unfortunately this jewel of a spring is not (nature-)protected, but untouched in its hidden seclusion! Deutsch: Karstquelle in Griechenland (Region Achaia auf dem Peloponnes), Mai 2006. Die Quelle entspringt unter großen Bäumen mit einer außerordentlichen großen Schüttung aus einem ca. 20 m messenden, tiefen Quelltopf. Die große Wassermenge des Baches ist hier unmittelbar hinter dem Quelltopf abgebildet. Die Quelle versiegt auch in trockenen Jahreszeiten nicht. Die Quelle schüttet die Sickerwasser des bis 2340 m hohen, sogar zeitweise schneebedeckten, Karbonat-Gebirges des Aroania. Jahreszeitlich hoher Sedimentanteil weist auch auf Zufluss aus den Katavothren (Geologie: Ponore) der Feneos-Depression hin. Schneller unterirdischer Transport weist auf große Gesteinsspalten tektonischen Ursprungs und nur gering filternde, reinigende Wirkung hin, wie lange Verweilzeiten in Grundwasserleitern es ergeben. |
