English: கருவூர் போர் நினைவுத் தூண்

இரண்டாம் ஆங்கிலேய மைசூர் போரில் (1780-1784) திப்பு கல்தான் ஆளுகைக்கு உட்பட்டிருந்த கருவூர் கோட்டையைக் கைப்பற்றுவதற்காக ஆங்கிலேயர்கள் கி.பி 1783 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதம் கருவூர் மீது போர் தொடுத்தனர்.

போரின் இறுதியில் கருவூர் கோட்டை ஆங்கிலேயர், வசமானது, கருவூர் கோட்டையைக் கைப்பற்றியதை நினைவு கூறவும், இறந்துபட்ட போர் வீரர்களின் நினைவாகவும் அமராவதி ஆற்றின் தென்கரையில் தாந்தோன்றிமலை அருகில் ராயனூர் என்ற இடத்தில் போர் நினைவுத் தூண் நிறுவப்பட்டது.

Karur War Memorial 

      The Karur Fort, which was under the rule of Tipu Sultan in 18th century AD was captured by the Britishers during the Second Anglo - Mysore War (1780-1784). In memory of the warriors who lost their lives during the war and as a symbol of victory on capturing
the Fort, the War Memorial was raised at Rayanur, on the bank of Amaravati river.
