English: Every year during month of Sawan August as per Georgian calendar thousands of Shiva devotees called Kawarias walk barefoot carrying gangajal water from sacred river Ganges to their villages temples.Delhi is transit for these Kawarias to Northern states like Haryana Utter Pradesh and Rajasthan. Local devotees set up transit camps and provide food and shelter to Kawarias. Police make elaborate arrangements for their movement through busy streets of Delhi. The accompanying picture was taken during day time on a not so busy road.
