Summary edit

Description
English: 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin (left) and Honorary Chairman Roger Zion (right) present the Benjamin Franklin Award to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison for sponsoring legislation to repeal the federal inheritance tax or "death tax." It was Franklin who stated: "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." Because of the death tax, there is a third certainty: taxes AFTER death. The Franklin Award honors those who are leading the fight to eliminate the third certainty, by repealing the death tax. (4/98)
