Summary edit

Description
English: Kedarnath shrine is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva. It is on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand in India. It is situated at a height of 3583m above sea level. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open only between the end of April (Akshaya Tritriya) to Kartik Purnima (the autumn full moon, usually November. This picture was clicked during my visit in 2016 after the unfortunate flash floods hit the valley on 16 and 17 June 2013. One can reach the main temple either via helicopter services provided by different companies or by trekking by walking or by taking mule from gauri kund (15-16kms) new trek route .
