Description Stained glass heraldic roundel surrounded by Renaissance decoration, circa 1540, Athelhampton House, Dorset showing : Argent, three pellets cotised sable between three crows proper (unknown family/husband) impaling Argent, two grozing irons in saltire sable between four Kelway pears proper (Kelloway, for his wife). Grozing irons are used in the manufacture of stained glass and appear in the arms of the Society of Glaziers. The Kelloway family was seated at Rockbourne, Hampshire. Although Robert Martin of Athelhampton House did marry a Kelloway (namely Elizabeth Kelloway of the Rockbourne branch, a daughter of Sir John Kelloway and his wife Anne Strangways, a daughter of Henry Strangways (Heraldic Visitations pedigree[1])) these are not the arms of Martin on the dexter/baron (husband's) side. The arms of Martin of Athelhampton House, Dorset are: Argent, two bars gules. (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.663)
