DescriptionKent Mill ruins.jpg |
English: Ruins of the old Kent Mill on the banks of the Cuyahoga River in Kent, Ohio. The mill was built in the late 1830s on the site of the original Haymaker mill, built by the first settlers of Kent in 1807. The Kent Mill was used mainly for the production of flour. It was torn down in the 1930s, though these foundation walls still remain in Kent's Franklin Mills Riveredge Park immediately south of the Haymaker Parkway Greer Bridge. The area is adjacent to the Kent Industrial District, a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Picture taken by my grandfather Barton Derby. |
