Description

Nederlands: De voorgeschiedenis van dit pand gaat terug tot in de 17de eeuw. Het was een kapelanij die onteigend werd en in gebruik genomen werd als vorsterswoning. De vorster was veldwachter, deurwaarder en gerechtsbode van Goirle. Een van de vorsters was Charles van de Foelaert. Hij hield er waarschijnlijk ook herberg om zijn schamele inkomen als vorster wat op te vijzelen. Een mogelijk bewijs is de grote gewelfde bier- en wijnkelder die zijn ontluchting heeft via een rooster in het stoepje. In 1818 verkoopt Charles het huis aan zijn zoon die schoenmaker is. In 1847 koopt Willem van Enschot het pand en hij bouwt er een stuk aan omdat het voor zijn gezin te klein is. Hij vernieuwt rond 1870 de voorgevel. De ramen en deur zijn omlijst met afgeronde bovenhoeken en kuiven. Opvallend is het ijzeren sierhekje met hardstenen stoeppalen.
