Description
English: Former Kilfree Jct on the Sligo line
Kilfree Jct, between Boyle and Ballymote, was the junction for a ten-mile branch to Ballaghaderreen. The line opened in 1874 and closed in 1963. The train is the 18.05 Sligo – Dublin Connolly headed by 144 and 132. Twenty years after closure the platforms were still visible although covered by vegetation.
