Summary edit

Description

Stained glass in Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Killinghall, North Yorkshire, England. Church completed in 1880, by architect William Swinden Barber.

This is the right-hand light of a three-light window on the north aisle, on the subject of evangelism or missionary work. Note the possible resemblance of the face to Edward Bouverie Pusey (1800-1882), one of the leaders of the Oxford Movement.

Description as follows: It shows Jesus in the centre light, playing music. The left-hand light carries the words, "Their sound is gone out unto all lands," and the right-hand light says "and their words into the ends of the world." This is a translation of the 4th and 5th lines of Psalm 19, as it appears in The Book of Common Prayer: day 4, morning prayer. The men on either side of Jesus are both saints with halos, and representatives of the Church, wearing mitres. There is no dedication plaque for this window.
