Summary
editDescriptionKilmeadan - The Cosy Thatch Pub - geograph.org.uk - 1635407.jpg |
English: Kilmeadan - The Cosy Thatch Pub Location is southwest of Waterford Town off N25. This cottage was built in 1475 and licensed in 1780 as a public house. In the year 2000, it won the National Heritage Pub of the Year award. Our tour group was given the option to make a contribution for the pub to be open to our group only with free drinks and live entertainment or to go on to Waterford Town to check-in early at our hotel. About 80% of the group decided to stop at the pub. By the time the tour bus driver got back to pick us up, we all had a great time drinking Guinness and singing Irish songs with our Elvis Presley like entertainer. Before leaving the pub, our tour group visited the wake room. That didn't sober us up. |
