DescriptionKings Langley, The Rose and Crown - geograph.org.uk - 1336474.jpg |
English: Kings Langley: The Rose & Crown Historically the Rose & Crown was the first building that northbound travellers saw on entering Kings Langley, and to confirm that there is a village nameboard just visible high up under the eaves and above the CCTV camera. The pub certainly existed as the Rose and Crown in 1883 as it is shown as such on the Ordnance Survey 6" to the mile map of that year. Unusually for a village pub it warrants its own PH abbreviation on the current Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 scale map. The road in front is the A4251 High Street, formerly the A41 trunk road. |
