English: Kingston: the Eldon Seat The Eldon Seat is inscribed with the date 1835 in one end; "ELDON SEAT" on one side and on the other (pictured) side: "The first stone of this seat was laid by the Lady E Repton, the elder daughter of the first Earl of Eldon. XV October MDCCCXXXV" [15 October 1835]. Other than the above I know nothing about it, though it is clearly marked on the OS 1:50,000 map.
