Dial Rayleigh 5879 and one could have hired any one of these fine silver and light blue vehicles in the early 1970s. By the time of this photograph, the Atkinson,JHL670, was no longer in use, but the 2 Lindsey registered AECs were. VBE 2, the third of the triumverate from Scunthorpe, may have already been sold at this time. The Atkinson was not the only outre vehicle in the fleet in the early 70s....a Setra S130, OTW116K was a contemporary of JHL. Apparently 444 EBE was still licensed until 1988. |
