Ossa is a mountain of Thessaly, also known as Kissavos. It is located in the northeast of the prefecture of Larissa and south of Olympus, which is continuously geological and from which it is separated from the valley of Tempi. It has a maximum altitude of 1,978 meters in the area of ​​Profitis Ilias . Kissavos faces west the plain of Larissa, south the plain of Agia and east the sea where its slopes end up forming coves. The mountain is divided into two parts by a valley, which is called in the northern "Big Gorge" and in the south "Megalos Rema". From a geological point of view , Kissavos is of great interest because at its base it consists of crystalline rocks, but covered by other layers of explosive rocks. On most of its sides, and especially in the east, there are impressive ravines with rushing torrents, the most beautiful of which is the Calypso ravine with a landscape filled with waterfalls, lakes and steep cliffs. Alternative tourism activities such as trekking, cantoning, flying fox, rafting, canoe-cayak, paragliding etc. The visitor can also climb (organized climbing fields), canyon downhill, mountain biking and crossing 4x4 vehicles.
