Description

Znak města Kladna

Původní podoba znaku s polovinou orlice (připomínající znak majitelů Kladna Žďárských ze Žďáru) a rysem (pravděpodobně symbol hojných lesů v okolí Kladna) byla ustanovena privilegiem Ferdinanda I. z 22. prosince cs:1561. Hornická kladiva do znaku přidal cs:František Josef I. 5. srpna cs:1914. V 60. až 80. letech 20. století bývala nad kladiva umisťována červená pěticípá hvězda; tento doplněk však ani v oné době nebyl městu oficiálně schválen. Na rozdíl od většiny českých měst Kladno běžně užívá znak ne na prostém, ale zdobeném štítě, jaký byl v municipální heraldice užíván v době polepšení z roku 1914.
